As I’m typing this, RHP Chris Stratton is also part of the deal. First off, thank you to Jose Quintana for his contributions to the organization. He provided a spark this year to a young team that desperately needed some rotation help and a veteran presence. Thank you to Chris Stratton as well, being one of the longer tenured Pirates left on this team after being acquired by Neal Huntington in 2019. In return, the Pirates received 24-year old RH reliever Johan Oviedo and 21-year old 1B/3B Malcolm Nunez. Oviedo seems like a similar piece in the Colin Holderman acquisition, a young controllable reliever with some potential, who could even make some starts down the line.
