The Air Quality Index for San Francisco as of Thursday afternoon in 115 with a particle measure of 2.5, according to AirNow. This AQI reading, categorized as, “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups,” is the result of smoke from the Glass Fire in Napa and Sonoma counties being blown into the Bay Area by winds that could reach up to 30 mph later today. As of 9:31 a.m. CAL FIRE reported the fire at 5% contained. AirNow advises older adults, those with heart and lung disease, children and teens to avoid outdoor activity.
