Today is Ageism Awareness Day! This initiative, led by asaging, is centered on "reframing how we talk about aging and older people in a society where ageism is pervasive."
At Think 360 Arts, we work to promote the inclusion of quality arts programs in communities that serve older adults; preparing teaching artists to work with older adults; and fostering lifelong learning within our communities through our Creative Aging programs.
This past week Think 360 Arts staff and board members visited one of our Creative Aging program at A.B. Hirschfeld Towers. This program entitled, "Folding Paper to Hold Stories: Simple Bookmaking", is in partnership with DPL Ross-Broadway and is led by Think 360 teaching artist Jo Fitsell.
During this six week program, participants meet once a week to create their own works of art. One participant explained how this program has taught her to "be more kind to [herself]" by showing her she doesn't have to be a professional...
