🎥 Day in the Life: M3, Rio Castro (grabbinglifebythemd) takes us through her day on Internal Medicine Wards. 📝👇 “Come join me for the day as a 3rd year medical student on Internal Medicine Wards! 6:30am: I get to the hospital and pre-round: I review the patient’s chart and find out why the patient is in the hospital. 7:30am: I go and see them! I ask my patient any questions that can give me more insight into their clinical picture and perform a physical exam. 8:00am: Meet up with the residents and go over our patient list for the day. Ask questions about anything I don’t understand and suggest a treatment plan to my residents. (Providing an assessment and plan is one of the biggest skills med students are expected to develop by the end of their third year). 9:00am: Meet up with the Attending and present all the patient information I gathered during pre-rounds. 10:00am-12:00pm: On Rounds, we’ll walk around the hospital to meet with patients and their families and see if the p...
