Come support new and upcoming filmmakers at the screening of the finalists’ films for this year’s Student & Emerging Filmmaker Competition! Since its debut in 2016, the Student and Emerging Filmmaker Competition has provided filmmakers with the unique platform to showcase their cinematic storytelling abilities while addressing important themes such as “what’s your civil right?” and “speaking truth to power.” We received over 150 submissions from around the world. An esteemed jury of civil rights activists, industry leaders, and established filmmakers are tasked with selecting the winners.
