"But what happens to the children who never got to be a child?" is a powerful question our Policy Manager, Ashley Hill Hamilton asks in her piece for this month's antigravitymag. ⁠ ⁠ In Louisiana, it appears the answer is punishment, criminalization, and incarceration. ⁠ ⁠ For Black children across the country, and especially Black children in New Orleans, genuine opportunity to be a child is stripped away.
