Just under a month after Greg Brooks Jr. underwent surgery to remove a tumor from his brain, the 22-year-old LSU safety has been diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer.
Medulloblastoma is a cancer most commonly found in children and affects ~400 people in the US every year. Brooks’ surgery on September 15th was considered successful but has affected his speech and ability to communicate.
“Although he is responsive and working daily with physical therapy, he will face months of intensive rehabilitation.” - Dr. Catherine O’Neal
LSU has set up The Greg Brooks Victory Fund, where people who want to support the family with medical bills can donate.
