The AFL Grand Final always brings out stories of heart break. For Collingwood It’s no McStay or Adams, for Brisbane it’s having to play at the MCG. For us, it’s Victoria’s lives lost soaring to a seven-year high, with 210 fatalities to date, 27 higher than the same time last year. Along with this, more than half of this year’s fatalities have also been attributed to low level non-compliance, such as lower levels of speeding and drink driving, distraction and failing to obey road signs. Operation scoreboard kicked off at midnight last night, and police will be on the road across the long weekend ensuring your safety.
