Join BMW’s visit to Art Car Artist #20 Julie Mehretu’s new exhibition at White Cube. ‘They departed for their own country another way (a 9x9x9 hauntology)’ debuts three new bodies of work consisting of nine paintings each. A dialogue between Mehretu and artist Baghramian is introduced in the exhibition, placing the paintings in conversation with Baghramian’s abstract sculpture “S’asseyant” (2022). Mehretu’s works focus on themes of enduring conflict, widespread displacement, and power dynamics. The exhibition is on view at White Cube through 5 November 2023.
