Curated by Attilia Fattori Franchini, BMW Open Work invites an artist to develop an ambitious project utilizing BMW technology and design to pursue their practice in new directions. This year, Sara Sadik transforms the all-electric BMW i5 into a character, inviting the public to delve into their emotions. “LA POTION (EH)” continues Sadik’s interest in the possibilities of computer-generated scenarios as well as her investigations into changing emotional states. An interactive video game played exclusively in the BMW i5 as well as video installations on the exterior façade of the iconic KOKO and inside the BMW Lounge, Sadik’s project is inspired by dialogues with the BMW gaming team (AirConsole) as well as the My Modes technology, which allows drivers to set the car to their current mood.
