Brus is a veteran of the USNavy and received his PhD from Columbia in 1969. After years in government and private industry, he returned to the University as a professor in 1996. Since then, heās become a fixture on campus, and is widely known for his generous support of Columbia Community Service (ColumbiaNeighbors).
