If you grew up in St Louis during the 80s and 90s there's no doubt you spent at least one Friday night at Jamestown Mall in North County. Opened in 1973, Jamestown Mall was a bustling indoor shopping center. Sears, Dillard's (previously Stix, Baer and Fuller), JC Penny and Famous Barr were the four big anchor stores. Sam Goody, Aladdin's Castle, Spencer's, Pass Pets, Camelot Music, and so many more stores and attractions came and went throughout the years. One of my fondest memories of Jamestown Mall was spending a couple days after Thanksgiving every year helping my grandma with her booth at the craft show in the mall. She would give me a few dollars to run over to Aladdin's Castle to play some games. I caught the last sunset over Jamestown Mall tonight as the complex is being demolished tomorrow. It's been abandoned for over a decade with several tries to redevelop the location. However time has not been kind to the old place and it's beyond repairs.
Do you have any special memories...
