The goal of this project is to restore longleaf pine on private lands to improve wildlife habitat (~29 threatened and endangered species associated with longleaf pine forests, plus dozens of other species). Underserved landowners will be targeted for outreach and funding. Longleaf pine ecosystem only covers about 6% of it’s historical extent and is one of the most biodiverse ecosystems outside of the tropics.
