#WeAreSoC… more like Oui Are SoC 🇫🇷 While doing research in Paris, @umcinarts Professor Terri Francis bumped into @uminteractive grad Nia James! Pictured at Josephine’s Bookshop, a pop-up bookstore and art installation in honor of French singer, dancer, and actress, Josephine Baker, the two soon realized their #UMiami connection. 🙌🏾 @nade_studios, a former member of @blackcreativescollective, and digital artist, was at Josephine’s Bookshop to screen her short film “Chin up, In Dignity.” Her film envisions what Josephine Baker and James Baldwin would say to the young people of today while exploring perception, belongingness, as well as fear.
