To say I’ve had a fascination with airships for most of my life is not an understatement. In 5th grade, I had to write a picture prompt story for a writing project my class was put together. There was a box of cards with all different pictures on them, and the one that caught my eye was the 1st photo here of the Hindenburg disaster in the 1930s. I was transfixed by it, and wrote my story about it. You can read it here. It’s not perfect, but not bad for a 10/11 year old. Fun fact: the Hindenburg crashed in NJ not far from where I grew up. My grandfather claimed to have seen it flying overhead in Newark, NJ that day when he was at school, and my great great uncle said the same. 2 weeks ago I got to fly on an airship myself, so I just had to dig out this old gem from more than 25 years ago. #bestinclass #author #blimp #airship #hindenburg #writing #writer
