Introducing the Davao 75: gin, lemon, cassis, banana liqueur, cava, served up🍷🍋 🍌🍾 💡Fun fact: the Davao region on the Southern island of Mindanao is the banana capital of the Philippines - they produce about 37% of the countries bananas! 🍌 (it is also said to be the Orchid growing capital of the world) French 75 is one of the quintessential cocktails of the modern sphere - up there with the old fashioned, manhattan, and martini - but its origins are bizzarre. It was originally called the Soixante-Quinze (75) after the French army's choice weapon in WWI the French 75-mil light field gun - supposedly named for it's 'high power' (see ABV). But originally, the cocktail consisted of gin, apple brandy, grenadine, and lemon juice and was served in a Nick & Nora glass. It underwent several different name variations and ingredients over the years before landing on our now-well-known classic build of gin, champagne, lemon, and sugar. #davao #davao75 #inumin #cocktails
