Thanks to the power of community, the Asian-run boba tea shop Teadori can keep its doors open for business in Pennsylvania.
After creating a GoFundMe to raise funds to pay the building's landlord, Teadori found that there was a supportive and willing community of boba lovers that wanted to share their support. Some patrons even ordered up to four times in one day.
In the end, Teadori managed to raise $10,000. The shop stays open.
“Sometimes you think that you’re alone, but you’re not really alone,” Atlas (owner of Teadori) told Onward State, an independent, student-run news outlet serving the Pennsylvania State University community. “All you have to do is reach out to the community and ask for help. But, I feel like that’s the hardest part.”
