Capturing Bucket List Backpacking Destinations with the canonusa EOS R8 Gear used: The Canon EOS R8 + RF15-35mm f/2.8 L IS USM and RF24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM lenses These are moments from one of the most challenging backpacking experiences of my life, deep in the San Juan Mountains and Weminuche Wilderness of Colorado, at a place I had been dreaming of seeing for years, that few people have ever photographed or visited. Leviathan Lake is stunningly blue, crystal-clear alpine lake, surrounded by the incredible Leviathan and Vallecito Peaks. The hike to this lake is typically long and difficult to get to, but it got even more difficult when we realized 1/3 of the trail hadn’t been maintained for years, which required several miles of uphill and downhill bushwacking. But seeing this lake in person was truly incredible and worth every bit of effort to get there. Being able to capture it all with the Canon EOS R8 made it even more memorable.
