An off-duty Alaska Airlines pilot was arrested in Portland after reportedly trying to bring a flight down mid-air. The pilot was traveling in a jump seat in the cockpit on the flight to San Francisco and allegedly tried to deploy fire suppression systems and shut down the engines. The pilot was subdued and the flight safely diverted to Portland.
