Iāve been experimenting with 3D scans for the last two years and a frustration Iāve always had is that you need to depend on a friend to help scan you. But a new method called āgaussian splattingā just came out- itās more detailed than NeRFs and looks great on closeups. So I wondered... could this actually work as a selfie?
My first few attempts turned out blurry, but then I experimented with different camera settings, poses, and arm paths. After a bunch of testing, here are my tips -
TIPS
1. Make sure your face is perfectly still for the entire clip. Trim out any movement in the beginning/end of your clip
2. Focus on a distant object to avoid a cross-eyed look. Or wear š

4. Use your phoneās default front or back camera. Avoid cinematic mode or wide-angle lenses
