At DC Scores One Night One Goal event I had the opportunity to really step out of my comfort zone. I was invited to write and perform a poem and I was terrified. It would have been really easy to say no to doing it, simply because I was nervous, but this year I have been working on saying yes to more growth opportunities and I’m so happy I did! Experiencing what the poet-athletes experience at DC Scores and the willingness they show step out on that stage and share something important to them with the audience is so powerful, and I am in aw of our poet-athletes. Thank you charityjoyceblackwell for helping me through this and making it such a memorable night!
