Formula 1 races are becoming the next big event-travel destination, joining the ranks of Coachella and the Super Bowl–and this didn’t happen by accident. Tyler Epp, President of F1 Miami Grand Prix, told Thrillist that they were intentional about offering experiences specifically tailored to F1’s fan groups, such as access passes to tracks and clubs, exclusive race merch, souvenirs, and a food court. “We want them to walk away with the experience of a lifetime,” Epp said. “Part of our secret sauce will be the way we study our fanbase and provide options that fit what they want.”⁠ ⁠ With the travel industry getting in on the action, experience booking platforms and hotel packages around the races have soared–ranging from spa treatments and VIP race access to laps with team drivers.
