🌍 Exploring International Security in Piraeus, Greece 🇬🇷 Piraeus, renowned for its historical prominence as an ancient port city, provides an engaging setting for our international security course. Professor, Avi Spiegel, of the @uofsandiego and his students explore how the bustling hub has evolved into a critical link in global trade and security networks. Through a visit to a pistachio farm and fish market on Aegina Island, students learned about local challenges from climate change and human implications of transnational challenges. The experience emphasized the human aspect of transnational issues, particularly how climate change impacts “regular” citizens and explored what governments can or should do in response to such challenges.
