Instead of helping advance climate action and equality, the rules will favour cuts in public spending for the things that really matter. We need fiscal rules that allow investments in a green and just transition, and put people's wellbeing at the centre. To do this, we need fiscal rules that allow us to #FundOurFuture. Current rules do not address some of the biggest loopholes that allow subsidies for fossil fuels and nature destruction, and fiscal loopholes for big capital and wealthy people.
