Gov. Glenn Youngkin has promised to push for a 15-week abortion ban if Republicans take control of the Virginia General Assembly in the Nov. 7 elections. Youngkin and Republicans have tried to position their effort as fighting for a “15-week abortion limit,” but Democratic candidate Joshua Cole isn’t buying it — and doesn’t think voters will either.
“A ban is a ban is a ban,” Cole said.
Cole is running in Virginia’s 65th House district, which includes Fredericksburg, north Spotsylvania, and south Stafford, and is one of the more competitive districts in the House of Delegates. If Cole wins, he could help Democrats win back control of the House and block Youngkin’s proposed abortion ban.
