I don't think there's like ever like a right way that you are to be Filipino. There is no wrong way to be Filipino. There are so many complex and beautiful ways that people can be Filipino. You know, it reminds me of something that uncle Fred Cordova used to say, and he used to say it a lot. And that was, that if you have one drop of bagoong, you're Filipino.  I've always loved that because I think one, it's very inclusive, especially for mixed race people, multiracial people who may have been told their entire lives they weren't Filipino enough or Asian enough or whatever it is enough.
