We kicked off #youthjusticeactionmonth with one of our Co-EDs, Kristen Rome, and end it with another, Aaron Clark-Rizzio. We believe these words from Aaron are a great way to close out the month of October and remind us of the vital work so many #youthjustice advocates across our city, state, and country continue to pursue for the months and years to come on the behalf of and with system-impacted youth & their families. Over the last month, we've shared info from various studies, reports, and news articles to highlight the vast inequities of the juvenile legal system and hopefully provoke you to begin questioning why Black youth are so often criminalized and seen as "irredeemable", "violent" or "animals" compared to children who have been systematically failed at every turn.
