USC womenβs volleyball senior OH Skylar Fields was named the AVCA/GameChanger National Player of the Week the AVCA announced on Tuesday, Nov. 7.
It is the third time Fields has been chosen for the AVCAβs national weekly award (Oct. 11, 2022, at USC and Oct. 5, 2021, at Texas).
Fields averaged 8.00 kills per set while hitting .442 and posted an astonishing 8.25 points per set in USCβs wins over Arizona and 15th-ranked Arizona State. In the second set against the Sun Devils, she eclipsed the 2,000-career kill mark and finished the day at 20th on USC's career kills list in under two seasons (1,091 kills as a Trojan).
Fields collects the 13th all-time national weekly honor won by a Trojan player and becomes the fourth USC hitter to receive the national award twice in her career. She joins All-Americans Khalia Lanier (2017, β19), Samantha Bricio (2012, β15), and Alex Jupiter (twice in 2010).
