Day 2❕My theory was correct- using a reference made all the difference ! The time I would have spent inventing the lighting and composition all went into playing with the technique. And I’m actually super pleased with the outcome! My thoughts include… 1. The texture is already feeling a lot more cohesive! I dropped some of the painterly brushes and relied more on color blocking and screen tone clipping masks which definitely worked a lot better! 2. In some areas I’m still finding the rendering to fall flat- especially on things like the shoes and dresses. I think I can push the depth further and make the figures really feel 3 dimensional in future pieces. (Not sure yet how tho!) 3. Some of the smaller mark making is really working to bring the piece together! I love the little plants and some of the looser shape language. I hope I can let those things dominant more and continue to let go of control! Definitely feel good about this one, hooray for day 2! #art#artist#illustration#...
