Today is #GeneticCounselorAwarenessDay and we’re recognizing our hard-working team of genetic counselors at Main Line Health who work in cancer genetics, cardiovascular genetics and prenatal genetics! Our counselors play an important part in our patients’ health care — from helping individuals better understand their family history to making informed choices about managing their health. We’d also like to congratulate genetic counselors Cara Weinstein and Hannah Hadgu for recently presenting data at the National Society of Genetic Counselors conference. Cara’s data focused on leveraging technology to enhance the ability to identify patients who may have an inherited cancer-related gene. Hannah’s data focused on the preparedness of genetic counselors to provide prenatal counseling to meet the needs of incarcerated pregnant patients.
