During #GarWeek we’d also like to give a shout out to our other long-lived native nongame species in the state. The paddlefish can live to about 60 years, and species like the bigmouth buffalo have been aged well past 100 years old 🤯 The bowfin, like gar, is another long-lived species from the Jurassic period that can be found in our waters. Findings reveal they live well into their 30s! Bowfin also have great parental skills, as showcased by this male guarding and guiding his young in a neat little bowfin ball! #OutdoorOklahoma #GarWeek
