As I’m starting to brainstorm for our new house… I’m pulling images, fabrics, anything that I’ve saved over the years for myself. I keep hitting a roadblock — the problem is that Instagram oversaturates certain design elements making them feel like a trend when they’re actually just overexposed classic elements. Before social media, you waited for your monthly print magazine and were blown away by the projects you saw on the pages. Now, you’re seeing everyone’s work in real time (which I love by the way) but it’s hard to create spaces that feel special and unique when you feel like you’ve seen it all! A black/brass European range, a checkerboard floral, a mural wallpaper. They’re all gorgeous, and classic. So my question to you all, do you get sick of classic design elements just because you’ve been overexposed or do you see past that?
