🇺🇸Opening Ceremony of the Military Honor Plaza at the St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum on Friday, November 10, 2023. During World War II, the St. Augustine Light Station served as a United States Coast Guard station. The St. Augustine Lighthouse & Maritime Museum honors this military heritage by opening the Military Honor Plaza featuring commemorative bricks to honor the members of the nation's Armed Forces. Thank you to the Veterans and special guests who attended. The Tin Pickle Local Gedunk (canteen/snack bar), which is housed in the former Coast Guard Jeep Garage on the Light Station property, served root beer floats and apple pie as a special treat during the event. Special thanks to Karen Moore, the Museum Membership & Legacy Program Coordinator.
