I would like to begin by letting it be known that I myself AM NOT a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. However, I AM a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Which is another Divine 9 organization and in the name of Greek Unity, I very much so think this needs more attention for several reasons. 1.) Not a single person reporting on or in this story was black or a member of one of our organizations but the woman being reported on and she wasn’t even interviewed. 2.) The news left out VERY key elements of the teachers email (the line where she states its for college trained/educated women, etc) as well as the young woman’s Twitter post. (The line where she says “we told the teacher what it means and she still won’t take it off”) which VERY much so can cause misunderstanding by not addressing those 2 important comments. 3.)
