🐳 Fisher Fellows Catalina Onboarding Retreat ☀️ For Spring semester nine new @fisherfellows_usc, along with four returning students, embarked on a 35-mile boat trip to Catalina Island. 🥾 Students enjoyed touring the @uscwrigley labs, kayaking, and a guided hiking adventure. While kayaking along the coast, dozens of playful sea lions approached the group. The collective also spotted a bald eagle, with clear skies and perfect conditions. The USC Wrigley Center provided three hot meals per day and elegant cottage-style lodging for the 2022 collective. 🔬 At the research facilities, fellows collaborated on service project ideas with a future book drive in mind. Teams later brainstormed for an end-of-year Recognition Dinner in April. ✌️ Fisher fellows enables first generation students with financial need to participate more fully.
