@tetonscience brought students and special guests to the Murie Center, inside Grand Teton National Park for three days of conversation, hikes, and restoration 🏔🐻
Graduate students experienced a weekend of scheduled events and plenty of free time. Chief Historian of the U.S. Forest Service, Lincoln Bramwell, spoke about alternative career tracks for historians trained in western history and culture.
Senior Smithsonian historian Margaret Salazar-Porzio (Ph.D. grad, American Studies & Ethnicity) discussed public history within the Smithsonian’s constellation of museums.

@uschistory Ph.D. alum, helped the group think about the history and meaning of the overland trail experience. Judge Margaret McKeown, from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, provided views on the environmental vision of Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas.
