What happens when you’re afraid to tell truth on your team because it makes someone else uncomfortable? First, look at your own standards. Maybe you need to act with more courage to be honest. That part is on you. Second, look at your own skill to tell the truth with love. Maybe you need to work on message listening, message delivery, and clarity. Third, look at the culture of your environment. It may not support honesty. It may reward being nice over being honest. If you want that to change you’ll have to be courageous, consistent, skilled, and persistent. Do the work.
