Does being a four or a five-star recruit really matter? I have three incredible stats on this. 1. Five-stars are about 33 times more likely to be All-Americans than two-stars are. 2. Four and five-star recruits are about 10 times more likely to be drafted in the first round than their two and three-star counterparts. 3. Since 2002, it’s estimated that five-star recruits have between a 53% and 63% overall draft rate. So to answer the question… Yes, stars matter as an indicator.
