I shaped my first alaia board & it was such a fun learning experience. The goal for this board from the start was to be an art piece to hang on our wall. My next alaia board will be built to surf. Stay tuned for that! I have been inspired by Hawaiian's like pohatu & royalhawaiianwoodwork over the years watching them shape some incredible boards. I made this board for my son & engraved his name on it. I hope someday he hangs it on a wall in his home when's he's all grown up. The next Alaia board I shape, I will actually build it for surfing & take it out in the waves. I'm wearing the new Hanohano slippers from olukai.
