Raised on the west coast of Sweden with its idyllic mix of coastal and woodland surroundings, he was introduced to classical piano music at an early age by his mother, who also was his first teacher. He later went on to explore different genres, playing in bands inspired by the grunge era greats such as Soundgarden and Nirvana.
