Athlete spotlight: Cooper Johnson of the Denver Disruptors
Cooper grew up in the middle of Tennessee, from a town called Murfreesboro. He played soccer and ran cross country before finding mountain biking at the age of 14, and he hasn’t looked back since.
He got into NICA before switching over to mainly road bikes. He has been racing both in the United States and in Europe, but he’s very excited to come back to crits in the States with Denver in 2024.
When he’s not on the bike, he’s all about spending time being outdoors hiking or fishing, hanging with friends, and watching sports.
He also helps out with his local NICA youth mountain biking team. He says that is how he got my start in the sport, so he loves to “go ride with the young rippers and maybe show them a thing or two.”
