Colorado Springs is a city full of veterans. In fact, we have more than 70,000 veterans in our midst, and have the second highest percentage of veterans in our population for large cities in the entire country. Many were stationed at one of our five military installations for a few years, and loved it so much they wanted to come back. Many continue to work as civilian contractors for our aerospace and defense businesses. And many work and live in all areas of our city, serving our community with pride and excellence, helping to make our city one of the great American cities.
