“DO YOU BELIEVE IN MIRACLES? YES!” Forty years ago today, the United States beat the Soviet Union 4-3 in the semifinal game of the Olympic Winter Games Lake Placid 1980. The team would eventually go on to beat Finland in the gold medal match. What most people don’t know is the team was picked right here in #OlympicCityUSA in 1979 at the Colorado Springs U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center. The “Miracle on Ice” will come full circle this spring, as the scoreboard of the historic moment will be housed right here in Colorado Springs at the @usopmuseum, which opens in May, as one of the Museum’s signature artifacts.
