Many of you were excited about Portland announcing an outdoor ice skating rink that will open next month. But did you know that there was once an outdoor ice skating rink at Pioneer Square?
Back in 1989, the city added an outdoor rink to go along with their holiday tree for visitors to enjoy.
Even Tonya Harding showed up for a holiday show called "Skating on the Square."
The rink was open to the public with $1 to rent skates and $2.50 to actually skate.
