married to the game . . i love the @nycmarathon — i started the race with @shalaneflanagan + @mattjames919 & we went through 8 miles togeth SPICY 🌶 — i waited at the @mastercard cheer spot for another teammate to come through & found @nicholasrichard13, who was running his FIRST EVER marathon!! he agreed we’d make a great team & we danced the streets together. in the quieter moments (on the bridges) i shared w Nick why i run this way— joyful & bejeweled— & he shared with me about his running & also that he used to be a PE teacher! we agreed joy in sport is very important, even as we chase big goals. sports are games, after all. i am grateful to be here, thank you for letting me be myself alongside you. . . @piercebtownsend on many of these photos ☺️ . . @amorirstudio outfit was 🔥 @koko_bode_photo_ hair was 🥹
