🏃‍♀️26.2 💨 Had the honor of creating a custom marathon look for @alexipappas: Olympian, author, filmmaker and official @nycmarathon mascot for her hypewoman run half an hour before the start. Bonus: custom crystal sweatbands for the iconic @shalaneflanagan, an Olympian who won the NYC marathon in 2017, the first American woman to win in 40 years! I wanted to make sure Alexi was comfortably covered in crystals so stone size, spacing, and security was of utmost important, and 26.2 miles later the fit looked as good as it did at the start. As a former competitive runner, and current visual chaos agent this outfit meant a lot to me. The world of elite distance running isn’t big on flair and this was a special moment for Alexi to shine. It was so wonderful to get to spend time with Alexi this past week, planning the outfit picking the colors, sampling fabric for wings, and experiencing the marathon through her eyes.
