You’ve got to be kidding me….
That was my initial response after seeing Charissa Thompson single handedly ruin the perception, credibility and respect of a role that many young women in sports aspire to have.
I’m mortified to think that she thought it was funny to fabricate stories and essentially commit journalist fraud on live television and think that was the norm.
The privilege of being a sports reporter and the time it takes to build relationships and trust with our interviewees goes out the window when reporters are dishonest.
It’s disheartening to see people not appreciate the roles that they are in when many including myself have been praying, grinding and hoping for the chance to have a full time network job.
As a double minority in the sports industry I feel like I have to be 110% ready or else I won’t be given opportunities but yet you have people like Charissa Thompson abusing the role that many would love to have.
I’m hurting for all of my sports reporter friends...
