The Fredericksburg Nationals have seasonal paid internships available for the 2024 season. The internship positions are summer positions that start in January and run through the conclusion of the season (September).

Everyone working in minor league baseball wears many different “hats,” so a willingness to go above and beyond one’s normal duties is expected. Candidates are required to be enthusiastic with a great desire to put on a night of entertainment and memories for all the fans at Virginia Credit Union.

*   Assist Director of Ticket Operations with supervision of Box Office staff, including hiring, and training
*   Assist Director of Ticket Operations in building all facets of events in the ticketing system

*   Assist with walk-in customers and appointments
*   Assist in the maintenance of ticket operations, customer relations, and event day management for all ticketed events
*   Assist with reporting needs, processing, etc. and ensure the proper use of the ticketing system
*   Maintain an understanding of upcoming events and promotions
*   Perform all duties of the Box Office Managers in their absence

Ticket Operations Assistant

**About the Role**

We’re looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Event Assistant to join our Special Events team! This is a fantastic entry-level opportunity for someone who’s passionate about creating memorable experiences and helping others bring their events to life.

  

As an Event Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting both private and public events at the stadium. You’ll serve as the on-site contact during events, ensuring everything runs smoothly, solving challenges as they arise, and delivering exceptional service to our guests.

  

**Key Responsibilities**

*   Serve as the day-of event lead, managing on-site logistics and client needs during events.
*   Ensure all stadium policies and procedures are followed by clients, vendors, and guests.
*   Assist with stadium tours, new booking coordination, and event preparation (including setting up furniture, signage, and supplies).
*   Contribute to social media and marketing efforts by capturing event content and supporting event promotions.
*   Provide excellent customer service and represent the venue in a professional, positive manner.

  

**Qualifications**

*   A strong passion for events and hospitality.
*   Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
*   Reliable, professional, and able to work independently.
*   Flexibility to work varying hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays based on the event schedule.

This individual will assist with partnership activation, outreach, sales support, and game-day operations. This internship is ideal for candidates looking to gain hands-on experience in sports partnerships, business operations, and the daily functions of a Minor League Baseball front office.  
  

This is a seasonal position running from January through September, with a flexible work schedule. Candidates must be available for all home games and special events during the season.

**Position Overview:**

The FredNats are seeking a results-oriented sales professional to generate and develop new sponsorship sales revenue across multiple products including but not limited to, stadium signage & experiences, in-game promotions, digital, print, radio, hospitality and promotional nights. Working closely with the broader DBH Sales organization, the Account Executive will take a hands-on approach to selling & managing sponsorship and advertising products while providing some strategic and analytical support to the broader team. The ideal candidate will have some experience in sponsorship sales, specifically for sports and entertainment, and will understand the process of prospecting & closing deals in a relevant industry or vertical. This is a full-time, exempt position reporting to the Director of Corporate Partnerships.   

  
 **Essential Duties and Responsibilities:**

*   Research and prospect new advertising clients for sponsorship inventory 
*   Work closely with the DBH Corp Sales organization to leverage and optimize sales on an individual and multi-property basis.  
*   Help to develop a full suite of assets and packages for sale 
*   Assist with contract negotiations for new business 
*   Renew & upsell/expand existing client base where applicable 
*   Help to coordinate contract execution and overall client fulfillment 
*   Strategically acquire new high-impact signage space and grow the inventory base 
*   Responsible for sales administration functions for the department  
*   Provide weekly reporting of sales metrics including pipeline generation, account status, revenue and quota attainment, and relevant sponsor interaction

*   Bachelor's Degree preferred  
*   Minimum 1-2 years' experience in sales and/or business development for sports and entertainment 
*   Demonstrable experience delivering results and establishing a book of business 
*   Working knowledge of corporate partnership sales and activation functions within pro sports organizations
