**ABOUT THE ROLE  
\*\*This is not a role with the Philadelphia Union first team, second team, or Academy\*\***    

The Philadelphia Union Youth is a premier training program that provides year around clinics, camps and affiliate training.  This part-time staff coach position will report directly to the Union Youth Director and provide supplemental training programs including goalkeeper coaching for programs such as camps, clinics and club training.  A pivotal part of this role will be to deliver the Union Youth methodology through organized training sessions. 

  
The Union Youth Training Programs are currently looking to add new and experienced coaches to our staff. In conjunction with the Union Youth Director, this individual will assist and provide input into the Union Youth Developmental Curriculum. Core to the role is the ongoing positive promotion of the Philadelphia Union through soccer organizations and communities.

**WHAT CAMPS & PROGRAMS DO WE OFFER?**  
Union Youth Soccer Camps & Programs are designed to meet players where they are in terms of development. The camps & programs offered throughout the year include UTrain, Union Camps, Union Tournaments, and the Player Pathway Program.  
  
**UTRAIN  
**Philadelphia Union provide youth programs and clinics which are designed to provide a series of training sessions that allow the Union to connect with local clubs and the soccer community. The UTrain Program offers programs for all level of players looking to train outside of their club environment. The programs range from beginner to elite level and delivered under the instruction of the Philadelphia Union Youth coaching staff.  
  
**UNION CAMPS  
**Union Youth Soccer Camps are designed for ages 6 to 14 years old.  All camps are designed to create a professional & engaging environment for players to learn and improve their game.  
  
**PLAYER PATHWAY PROGRAM  
**The Philadelphia Union Youth Player Pathway Program (PPP) provides supplemental development training (club neutral) by creating a player-centered learning environment for advanced level boys and girls ages U10—U14. The Union Youth is also part of the identification program for the Union Academy.

  
**RESPONSIBILITIES**

*   Conduct oneself in a professional manner as a representative of the Philadelphia Union.
*   Lead and/or assist trainings within the greater Philadelphia area 1 to 5 times a week, depending on availability and willingness to work. With the exceptions of summer camps and holiday clinics, goalkeeper trainings typically occur within the timeframe of 5-9 pm on weeknights. 
*   Advise, educate and provide development opportunities to the affiliate clubs.
*   Provide the Youth Director with weekly reports on programs directly involved in.
*   Oversee onsite programs and manage youth programs.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

*   On-field and Goalkeeper experience - playing and/or coaching. 
*   Coaching license and/or goalkeeper license - preferred, **but not required if candidate shows proficiency in the additional areas below.**
*   A passion for coaching and developing grassroots level players.
*   Strong communications skills and ability to educate.
*   Have own transportation.
*   Willingness to attend coaching education, learn directly from the Youth Director, and have a growth mindset. 
*   An ability to think and plan strategically, as well as the ability to adjust on the fly and be autonomous in training sessions.
*   A team player, with an ability to operate as part of an integrated multi-functional management team.
*   Applicants for employment in the U.S. must possess work authorization, which does not require sponsorship by the employer.

**ABOUT THE ROLE**

The Athletic Trainer plays a critical role in the health, safety, and athletic development of Philadelphia Union Academy athletes. Working collaboratively with the Head of Athletic Training, Academy & Professional Development, Head of Health, team physicians, performance staff, and nutrition personnel, this position is responsible for delivering comprehensive sports medicine services that support athlete wellness, injury prevention, performance enhancement, and return-to-play outcomes.  
  
The Athletic Trainer serves as a leader within the Academy's sports medicine department, helping to maintain the highest standards of medical care while fostering a safe, healthy, and performance-driven environment for Academy athletes. The Philadelphia Union is committed to providing a world-class environment that supports athlete health, performance, and development through excellence in sports medicine and interdisciplinary collaboration.  
  
**RESPONSIBILITIES**  
_Athlete Care & Sports Medicine_

*   Provide comprehensive athletic training services for Philadelphia Union Academy athletes.
*   Deliver first aid, emergency care, injury evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation services.
*   Design and implement individualized injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.
*   Apply appropriate therapeutic modalities and treatment techniques.
*   Facilitate medical referrals and coordinate care with physicians and healthcare providers as needed.
*   Monitor athlete progress and support safe return-to-play decisions.

_Collaboration & Athlete Development_

*   Work under the guidance and supervision of the Head of Health and Head of Athletic Training, Academy & Professional Development.
*   Collaborate closely with performance staff, nutritionists, physicians, and other multidisciplinary support personnel.
*   Assist in implementing integrated athlete development strategies that support performance, health, and long-term development.
*   Participate in athlete monitoring and wellness initiatives.
*   Support Academy team physicians with injury management protocols and medical procedures.

_Medical Operations & Compliance_

*   Maintain accurate medical records and injury documentation in accordance with club policies and applicable regulations.
*   Ensure compliance with all Academy medical policies, procedures, and standards.
*   Assist with the development, implementation, and continual improvement of medical protocols and emergency action plans.
*   Maintain athletic training facilities to ensure a clean, organized, and professional environment.
*   Order, inventory, and manage medical supplies and clinical equipment.
*   Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, including bloodborne pathogen protocols and workplace safety requirements.

_Additional Responsibilities_

*   Attend Academy training sessions, matches, tournaments, and other events as required.
*   Participate in departmental meetings and continuing education opportunities.
*   Perform additional duties as assigned to support the Academy's sports medicine and athlete development objectives.

  
**QUALIFICATIONS**  
_Required_

*   Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training, Sports Medicine, Exercise Science, or a related field.
*   Current Board of Certification (BOC) certification.
*   Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as an Athletic Trainer.
*   CPR/AED and First Aid certification.
*   Strong knowledge of injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation techniques.
*   Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
*   Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and travel as required.

  
_Preferred_

*   Master's degree in Athletic Training or a related field.
*   Previous experience working with elite youth athletes, academy programs, collegiate athletics, or professional sports organizations.
*   Experience collaborating within multidisciplinary performance and sports medicine teams.
*   Knowledge of soccer-specific injury prevention and rehabilitation strategies.

  
**This position operates in athletic training rooms, fitness facilities, training fields, competition venues, and office environments. The role requires regular attendance at training sessions, matches, tournaments, and Academy events. Flexible schedule required to successfully complete job requirements, including nights, weekends and holidays. Occasional travel may be necessary.**

The Philadelphia Union Futsal Academy is seeking passionate, energetic, and experienced coaches to develop the next generation of players through a high-performance futsal environment. Coaches will deliver age-appropriate training sessions while implementing the Philadelphia Union player development philosophy and fostering a positive, challenging, and inclusive learning environment.  
  

The ideal candidate has a strong understanding of futsal, enjoys mentoring young athletes, and is committed to helping players improve technically, tactically, physically, and mentally.  
  

*   Deliver engaging, age-appropriate futsal training sessions for players ages U7–U19. 
*   Implement the Philadelphia Union playing philosophy and coaching methodology. 
*   Create a positive, safe, and player-centered learning environment. 
*   Develop players' technical ability, decision-making, creativity, and game intelligence through futsal. 
*   Coach academy teams during leagues, tournaments, showcases, and special events.
