Long Island’s waters are under pressure due to rising nitrogen levels, emerging contaminants, harmful algal blooms, and the growing impacts of climate change.
On Wednesday, April 2, School of Marine and Atmospheric Sciences’ Chris Gobler returns for his highly anticipated State of the Bays lecture at
#StonyBrook Southampton. The evening begins at 7 pm with a student poster session, followed by the lecture at 7:30 pm in Duke Lecture Hall, Chancellor’s Hall.
Gobler will present the latest data, explore the environmental and public health implications, and share promising innovations that are helping restore water quality and resilience across Long Island. This event is free and open to the public.
